Thailand: The Grand Palace & Jim Thompson's House

my mom, sister, and i traveled to thailand and stayed at a relative's house for around two weeks the summer before i started college. it was such an interesting experience to be able to see an entire new culture. even though the humid and scorching weather made it a little hard for us to fully enjoy the stay, looking back on these pictures makes me really miss those times!
the grand palace. everything was gold.
everywhere we went, we weren't allowed to show too much skin regardless of the burning weather.
this was jim thonmpson's abandoned house. he was an american who revitalized thai silk. mysteriously went missing after talking a walk on easter sunday on 1967 in malaysia. rumor has it that he was kidnapped. his house in bangkok is now displayed as a museum.
